About

James Kirsop [dot] com

Started in an early stage back in 2003 as a way to share photos with school friends (before Facebook, Twitter and even MySpace took off), James Kirsop [dot] com became a blog in 2006 when James started University and needed somewhere to write. The site took a hiatus between 2008 and 2011, but was relaunched in October 2011 to become part portfolio of work and part writing.

James Kirsop

James is a Christian, technology enthusiast and photographer with a passion for combining all 3 of those elements into his life outside his regular 9-to-5. Since 2008, James has worked at Daraco IT Services and completed part-time study of an IT degree at UTS in 2013. Previously he’s worked for Apple, CNET Australia (now CBS Interactive AU), UTS and other smaller organisations in a variety of roles including marketing, software development and research.

Outside of business hours, James helps various businesses run different projects as a consultant and occasionally spends his weekends managing or working in production teams for Christian and secular organisations, co-ordinating audio, lighting and video. He also is completing some post-graduate study in theology and ministry at Christ College.

James lives in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, Australia. In a former time he enjoyed swimming in ocean pools in the summer every other day, but now enjoys swimming and walking in his local area.

He also finds it weird to write about himself in the third-person for bios.
